About the Herringbone Twist Bangle Kit
This kit is an excellent way to learn the spiral variation of tubular herringbone, sometimes known as Herringbone twist. It is suitable for all levels, even if you have no previous beading experience.
I have carefully used colouring to make learning the herringbone twist as easy as possible. All the kits contain black and silver beads, so please choose the contrast colour you would like (blue shown in the main photo, other bead samples shown in gallery photos) from the dropdown menu above.
The kit contains enough beads to offer you two alternative styles of bangle: You can make a short length of Herringbone twist to then mix with 4mm beads as shown in the main photo. Or you can create a much longer length so that the entire bangle is a herringbone twist, as one of my customers, Linda, did with the pink kit she bought from me.
Techniques and other important information
If you are completely new to beading and would like to find out a bit more about Herringbone, then I have a blog post here that will help you out.
The kit also contains the memory wire bangle. So, if you have never used memory wire before, then you can find another blog to tell you about it, here. I have also put together a free tutorial to show you how to make memory wire bracelets.
You will need to finish the ends of the memory wire to keep your herringbone twist and beads secure on the bracelet. There are a couple of alternative methods for doing this. So the blog post will show you the options.
The herringbone twist kit does not include tools. So, you are going to need a beading needle, scissors and then a pair of round nose pliers to finish the ends of the memory wire. All these materials will be available from any good bead or craft shop, but if you need a few recommendations, then the shops featured here are all great!
