Pizza Slice Earrings
I have become quite well-known for my beaded food patterns and I have a long list of foods that I still want to try making from beads! These pizza slice earrings have been sitting on that list for a long time. I was finally prompted to actually make them by a request from a customer who really wanted a pattern. So, here it is!
Materials and Techniques
The pizza slice earrings are each made in two halves, using a variation of circular Peyote stitch that will create a triangle. The colouring for the pizza is incorporated as you work. Then, add the topping at the end, before zipping the two halves together.
Once you have become familiar with the pattern, you can work out how to add different toppings to your own design.
For this project, you will be working with size 11 Delicas and size 15 seed beads. The instructions are detailed and this version of Peyote stitch is quite easy. So this project should be suitable for most levels. It will be easier if you already feel happy working in Peyote stitch. But if you need a reminder or an introduction to this technique, you can find free tutorials here.
Although I created pizza slice earrings, you could also use the pattern to make a pendant, or a charm bracelet. If necessary you can alter the size of the slice very easily by altering the size of beads that you use. The earrings measure about 1.5″ (4cm) from the crust edge to the point, just to give you a guide.
