£22.95

  • This 131-page book is available exclusively from Amazon. You can purchase on your local Amazon site.
  • The book gives you detailed instructions for making the beaded chocolate box, plus a design journal, explaining the design process.
  • For more information, and to see a video detailing the chocolate box, please read the full product description, below.
  • IMPORTANT! It has come to my attention that currently Amazon is not serving all countries. So, if you are having trouble getting a copy of the book, you can order direct from me. I am not holding stock, so you will be placing a back order. During the Covid-19 crisis order times are very variable, but you’re probably looking at around 2 weeks for the book to reach me, then an additional time for me shipping to you. I will ship, but can only use standard (not tracked) methods, and I am taking hygiene precautions as I package up orders. So, buying direct from Amazon is probably going to be quicker, if that option is available to you. If it’s not, then place your back order here and I will keep you updated on its progress. Thank you!

It’s April 2020, right in the middle of the Coronavirus lockdown. Now, I’m here with a project to keep you inspired and occupied. It’s quite by coincidence that I find myself publishing my Beaded Chocolate Box now. I began this project back in late 2019. It has taken several months of beading, so I knew I would be publishing it in the Spring. But I had no idea when I started, that we would all be in the position we are today.

Truth is stranger than fiction, they say… Well, I think we’re proving that at the moment. So, let me tell you a little more about this project.

What do you get in the beaded chocolate box?

This is certainly my biggest beaded box project so far (and that’s no mean feat!). I have created an actual box with ribbon, bow and hinged lid. Open this and what do you get inside? Well, nine beaded chocolates that are all hollow. So, you can lift them out and store things in the individual compartments underneath. Now, this could be real chocolates, or it could be some other kind of small treat.

But rather than try to explain this in words, let me show you in this video…

In terms of techniques, this is an advanced beading project. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that!

You will be working in CRAW for the box structure. Then using Peyote stitch for all the other bits and pieces. I have assumed you are already very competent in these techniques.

Everything is made using seed beads and delicas. (Size 8/0 seed beads for the box, Delicas in sizes 15, 11 and 10 for the other elements).

You just need a beading needle, scissors and plenty of thread.

How do you get the book?

I have written the tutorial in a book. This forms the second half of the book. The first part is dedicated to my beading journal. So, I detailed my progress on the project as I was going along.

Why would I do that? Well, loads of people ask me how to design. So, I thought the easiest way to teach you that was to take you through my design process. So, you’ll see everything from my initial sketches, through all my experiments, to the end.

With the tutorial, you just get the steps as they should be. With the design journal, you get to see all the bits that went wrong, all the things I had to change, etc.

I have also included steps that show you how to scale this project down to a 2×2 square box. So, if you want to try this on a smaller scale, you can.

Now how do you get the book? That’s easy… just pop over to your local Amazon website and grab a copy there. The ISBN is 9781690106746.

Then, have fun making your own beaded chocolate box!

If you like this, but want some smaller projects to try, then check out my Sweet Treats book here.
