This Christmas decoration pattern was the result of some beading ‘play-time’ with the Kheops beads. It’s fun to make and looks beautiful on your tree!

Materials and Experience

If you have never used Kheops beads before, this pattern is a very easy introduction to them.

You will be combining these with Superduos, seed beads and of course the faceted bead embellishment. I sell the beads you need in my beading supplies. So, grab your pattern (it comes with a discount coupon) and then get the discount on your beads!

About the Kheops Beads Christmas Decoration Pattern

This pattern came about as I was carrying out a few more experiments with Kheops beads. The bright red colour, combined with gold, led me to think of making a Christmas decoration. Although, if you wish, this design would actually work as a pendant as well. Just try it in your favourite colours.

When I started out, I had a few ideas about combining Kheops beads to create star shapes. So I began by trying to create a central section around which I could add the points of a star.

As so often happens with designing, the beads did not want to play as I had envisioned. So, instead of creating a star shape, I found myself doing something rather different.

Once I had the basic Kheops structure in place, the design just evolved. I had no idea how it was going to end up, but just kept reading the beads and adding what I thought was needed. So, as you will see when you make the Christmas decoration, you will be adding layer, upon layer to create the final design.

I found I needed to add in some faceted beads to create the perfect (to my mind!) finish. Once I had managed to work my way through the design process, I realised that this Christmas decoration pattern is not actually that time-consuming to make. You can definitely make a decoration in a day. Possibly even just an afternoon. So, you can easily sprinkle your Christmas tree with these beautiful decorations. Or maybe give them to friends or family as a special gift.
