Beaded Stars for Christmas in July

Apart from the fact that ‘Christmas in July’ is a ‘thing’ (I believe I blogged about its origins last year), it’s also the perfect time to start your festive beading projects. So, I like to try and pencil in some festive beading time for July every year. And this year, I’ve started with a collection of beaded stars for Christmas in July. I’m just wondering whether you would like to join me here?

You see, I remember the first time I saw one of these beaded stars. It was several years ago now, but I still remember how impressed I was. I couldn’t even begin to see how you could make one. They looked stunning, but gave the impression of being really complicated.

Well, they’re not! They are actually just a collection of warped squares. That may not mean much. So, if that leaves you as muddled as when you started out, I thought I would help.

I’ve just put together an online class to show you how to make these Peyote beaded stars. And, in case you’re still a little scared, you can try a free taster class first. That teaches you all the techniques, so you can see there’s absolutely nothing to be scared about!

An invitation to make beaded stars for Christmas in July

Now, I know July is also the month in which International Beading Week starts (it’s on the 25th this year). So, you may already be taking my online beading classes for that. (If you’re not, but you want to find out more, check out this link).

But, if you’re not already too busy, I’d like to extend an invitation to you… Would you like to join me in making beaded stars for Christmas in July this year? If you would, then I’ve got a couple of things to get you started…

I like to make ‘mini’ stars. So, mine are around 2″ across. That makes them a great size for wearing as pendants, as well as decorating your Christmas tree. And this year, I plan on making enough to share out with friends and family…I think we all need a bit of a boost for 2020. So, it’s pretty critical that I get started now!

Anyway, if you want to join me, I’d love that. You can take my full online class, which includes three projects, all with different star patterns. That’s in addition to me teaching you the techniques (on video, and also written), and showing you how to read patterns. So, I’ve explained how to use tutorials with word charts. Also, how to read pattern charts if you haven’t got a word chart.

Secondly, if you already know how to make Peyote stars, then you probably just need a pattern. So, I can also help there. You can find all my Peyote star patterns at this link. And I will be adding more, so make sure you keep checking back regularly!
