Yes, that’s right…drumroll please! I can now make my first announcements about my new beaded boxes ebook. This has been a long time in the making, but the wait is now almost over…

If you’re of a more patient nature, then you might like to find out a little more first. So, let me enlighten you!
What goes into making an ebook?
You may or may not be concerned about the production process here. But the reason I’m sharing this little glimpse with you is to help you appreciate what you’ll be getting in this new beaded boxes ebook.
So, step 1 is to come up with the idea. Yes, I knew I wanted to make beaded boxes. But a book needs some sort of coherence. So, for me, that meant a theme to my boxes.
What theme did I choose? Flower Pots!
Why? Well, I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of small keys to lock my house windows. I never know where to keep them so they will be safe, but out of sight. So, a few years ago, I thought of making a beaded box that I could keep on my window sill as an ornament. Hide the keys in there and I’d find them easily, but nobody else would.
So, what do we normally put on window sills? How about a house plant? Do you see where my idea is heading now…?
Once you’ve got the idea, you need to make some projects. So, I spent a long time designing different flower pot shapes and flowers and plants to go inside them.
I wanted to create projects that would suit all levels. So, there’s some easy stuff if you’re just starting out. If you need more of a challenge, try one of the more complex projects.
Write the book!
The difference between a pattern (or series of patterns) and a book is all in the writing. I feel the book should take you on a journey. In this case, it’s a journey of learning basic beaded box techniques. Then, developing them into different designs.
So, I’ve structured everything to guide you gently from a place of little – or limited – experience to advanced level.
Now, being an ebook, means you don’t just get text and diagrams. You also get video…or at least you do in my ebooks! So, that means this process isn’t as scary as it sounds. You’re going to feel like you’ve got a teacher in your home with you, guiding you every step of the way.
Where are we now?
So, fast forward over a year, to today.
I’ve designed some gorgeous projects. I’ve written up the instructions and drawn diagrams. Lastly, I’ve covered all the techniques and filmed all the video demonstrations.
All of this is currently sitting with my ebook publisher. Vivienne and Trevor, who own and operate Vivebooks (and are so, so lovely to work with!) are busily crafting my manuscript into a format that will be beautiful to look at and read.
We are hoping this process will take about a month. So, right now, we anticipate publication at the end of October. As with my other ebooks, you’ll have a choice of buying a download, or getting the material on a DVD that will be shipped to you. The material remains the same – it just depends on whether you prefer something physical to hold!
Whichever you choose, you’ll be able to print out any pages you want. So, you can still read the instructions on a print out, watch the videos on your download or DVD and bead in your favourite place.
How can you get your hands on the beaded boxes ebook?
You can of course try and remember to look out for it at the end of October.
Or, you can join my special mailing list and you won’t have to remember…I will remind you!
I will also be sharing a few behind-the-scenes stories that you wouldn’t get to hear otherwise. Plus, I can reveal we have plans for a very special pre-order offer for mailing list members.
