New Beading Projects for Valentines

Well, Valentines day is all about chocolate and roses isn’t it?

French Beaded Rose Kit, Katie Dean, Beadflowers

So, you can indulge in some chocolates and roses right here. By popular demand, I have put together a kit for my French beaded roses. You can choose your colour. So, these don’t have to be red for Valentines. And if you want a colour that I haven’t included, just drop me an email and I’ll put together a custom kit for you.

Or, if you prefer, you might like a calorie-free strip of Toblerone? This beaded box is not just one, but two boxes in the one design. So, I am keeping a full beading kit in mine! What would you put in yours?

New beading projects for special occasions

My Mum and I almost share a birthday (in February). So, that would explain why I decided to make a birthday cake beaded box. No, it wasn’t for me! I filled it with chocolate (the real, edible stuff!) and gave it to Mum. She loved it.

So, who do you know who would like this? You can recolour the icing and alter the decoration to personalise it. Then fill it with a little treat.

Mother’s Day is also just around the corner if you live in the UK. I know that other parts of the world celebrate their Mums in May. So, having discovered the potential of beaded boxes for giving gifts, I decided to make another one for the occasion.

To be fair, the beaded flower basket would be good for any special occasion. Again, colour it to suit your tastes and it will be a gift to treasure forever. So, whether you’re panicking to get a gift ready for 11th March here in the UK, or you’ve got until May to sort yourself out, don’t delay!

Just because…

Sometimes there is no reason to make a pattern, other than for fun! So, I’ve added a couple of new beading projects to encourage you to experiment.

Are you a fan of Kheops beads? If you haven’t tried them yet, then you should. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then check out this blog!

I’ll be honest, some of the multi-hole and shaped beads are easier to work with than others, I find. Well, I immediately took to the Kheops beads and designed quite a few projects with them. I completely forgot that I had designed this cute Tetrahedron shape. I turned them into earrings and tried them as beaded beads. But I forgot to publish the pattern!

So, I’ve just rectified that and I’m inviting you to see what you can make with these beaded beads or charms. Don’t forget to share your designs with me.

But first, grab your pattern here>>

Then, I also wrote a little blog series about bead storage. That was over on My World of Beads website. If you want to read the whole series, you can find it here>>

I included a handy home-made bead travel case. So, the blog series includes the link to instructions for making that.

And, if you’ve been a fan of the beaded pen patterns on here, I now stock the beadable pen forms as well. So, you can literally get everything you need. That reminds me, I have some more beaded pen pattern designs to add here…

Looking ahead

It feels like March is full of holidays and festivals to mark. So, if you’re getting prepared in advance, I may be able to help.

St Patrick’s Day is first up after Mother’s Day. If you need a little ornament to decorate a party outfit, turn into a brooch, or give as a gift, then I have just the thing.

This year, Easter falls on 1st April. So, basically if you want to make any beaded Easter treats, you have the next month to do it. I’m helping you get ahead of the game this year with two Easter beading kits.

My little Easter chick is available here>>

You can choose the colour of her bonnet and I will make up each kit to order. So, you can even put in a special request for colouring if you wish.

My Easter Bunny has been a popular pattern for a couple of years now. I can’t think why it has taken me so long to turn it into a kit! But now I have.

Spring is just around the corner…

So, that may be all my new beading projects for February, but I have a little plan for March.

The weather here in the UK may be determined to hold us in Winter’s icy grip. But I am determined to celebrate Spring. Normally Spring begins officially on 1st March. So, I shall begin Spring in the beading world then.

Make sure you check back tomorrow and help celebrate St David’s day and the first day of my Spring beading event. I have a little treat in store…
