Bicone Beads

These are my patterns and projects that use Bicone beads. Don’t forget to check the beading supplies as well. Why not put together your own little project kit?

What Are DiamonDuo Beads?

Bicone beads are shaped as if someone had taken two cones and joined their widest ends together. You might also see these described as Bicone crystals. Swarovski is usually credited with popularising the shape. However, other manufacturers then came along and created their own versions. So, in an effort to distinguish themselves from the competition, Swarovski developed a new manufacturing technique. This added an extra facet to the beads’ face. Swarovski then called these Xilions. So, if you see that name, you know it is still a bicone shape, but the bead has been manufactured by Swarovski.

I am giving you some patterns here to get you started. I have not distinguished between Swarovski and other brands. So, you can use these patterns with any bicone bead (unless the individual instructions say otherwise!).

Please remember to check back here regularly. Then you won’t miss any new designs. If you would like more information about the beads and techniques, then visit www.myworldofbeads.com. That website has blogs covering everything you need to know. Finally, if you have any questions about any products, please just drop me an email. I’m always happy to help!
