This beaded Easter basket pattern is part of my collection of Easter themed beading projects. I love making three-dimensional shapes. I also love geometric beadwork. The two ideas come together with Peyote stitch. So, when I need to go back to basics, I always turn back to these loves. In this case, with Easter approaching, the beaded Easter basket idea came to me. You can see how the project evolved into the cute little basket here.

About the Beaded Easter Basket Pattern

This beaded Easter basket pattern uses circular and tubular peyote in the main. I have added a handle using square stitch and a free-form bow embellishment. The pattern does give detailed instructions and is accompanied with lots of clear diagrams and photos. However, if you need a reminder of the techniques, you can find free tutorials to download. I have a very popular Tubular and Circular Peyote stitch tutorial here. If you need a Square Stitch tutorial, you can find that here. Both links will open in a new tab, so you won’t lose your place here!

I designed my beaded Easter basket pattern to a size that should accommodate two or three mini Easter eggs. In order to achieve this size, I have used size 10 Delicas. These are a slightly less common variety, but a really lovely size with which to work. If you are struggling to find suppliers, then check my beading supplies page where I stock some size 10s. Of course, you can use size 11 Delicas, but your basket will come out smaller. You have the option of adding some extra rows to increase the size. I have included some tips for doing this in the pattern instructions.

You can certainly put some thought into personalising your basket. Pick colours to suit the tastes of your recipient, or design your own bow! If you like this, then you will also enjoy my other Easter beading patterns.
