Product Description

Share

I confess, this beaded Advent candle pattern came about as a direct link to a couple of other patterns. So, read on to find out more!

Materials

For this project, you will need:

  • Size 10 delicas
  • Size 11 delicas
  • Superduos
  • Piggy Beads
  • Size 11 seed beads
  • 6mm round beads
  • Your choice of thread

I sell all these beads in my beading supplies, except for the Piggy beads. I bought mine from The Old Bicycle Shop, so you can get yours there too.

Experience and Techniques

This is an advanced beading project. Although you will be working in Peyote stitch, the techniques are really quite tricky.

So, adding the pattern to a Peyote tube is not simple, although I have included some really amazing tricks to help with this. Plus, although the pine cones use even count Peyote, it is a little trickier when done with the Piggy beads.

The beaded advent candle pattern instructions are really comprehensive and explain everything clearly. I have included diagrams and photos as well. So, it just needs you to feel really confident with the techniques and you will be fine.

About the Beaded Advent Candle Pattern

I mentioned that my beaded Advent candle came from a couple of other patterns. Well, you may recognise the candle with removable beaded flame idea. I first made this in my Advent Calendar.

You may also spot the pine cones from a separate pattern. I simply realised that these, along with my beaded holly, would make a great candle holder.

However, when I made my original beaded advent candle elements for my calendar, this was the most tedious part of the project. So, for this pattern, I have made things more interesting.

I was doing some research into Advent candle traditions and found some images of very ornate candles. So, I decided to reflect this idea by adding a patterned section around my candle. This definitely adds some challenges to the beading, so you won’t get bored with endless rows of white Peyote!

The flame for this beaded Advent candle is separate. So, you can light the candle whenever you wish in Advent. Enjoy!
