Diamond Bead Bracelet

I designed this diamond bead bracelet to celebrate the 60th (diamond) issue of Bead and Jewellery magazine. I wanted something that would embody the idea of diamonds in all its different forms. So I played with the diamond shape and created a design that I hope represents the elegance and luxury of diamonds. I included Swarovski components to add the necessary sparkle to the bracelet!

Design Notes

The central section of the diamond bead bracelet includes Swarovski flatback crystals in the square chessboard shape. These were great to bezel around, then join together. For this part you will be working in Right Angle Weave. Then, I created the diamonds using Peyote stitch. This central section will stand alone, so you could use it to incorporate into a different piece of jewellery.

I then added two different variations of the band to the diamond bead bracelet. The original variation is worked in Cubic Right Angle weave in order to incorporate more sparkle in the form of Swarovski crystal rose montees. This is quite a challenging process, so if you are looking for something a little gentler, you can try the simpler herringbone version. I finished each variation with a different clasp. You may have a preference for shop-bought or beaded clasps, so this design will work with both. If you are going for the beaded clasp, then the pattern for this is available in my book, ‘Beaded Clasps‘. The shop-bought clasp I chose was a lovely elegant clasp made by Claspgarten. I was very impressed with the quality of this, so would certainly recommend the brand.

If you want to pair your beautiful bracelet with a necklace that will do it justice, then you might like to try this Swarovski crystal necklace pattern too.
