Daisy chain stitch was one of the first techniques I learned as a beginner. I love its versatility. So, for my daisy chain beaded necklace, I wanted to try mixing things up a little!

The daisy chain beaded necklace needs the following materials:

  • Size 11 seed beads in two colours
  • Size 8 seed beads to match the size 11s
  • 10mm pearls
  • A large focal flower
  • Clasp of your choice
  • Your choice of beading thread

You can check out my beading supplies for these materials. The focal flower that I used came in a prize pack. I managed to track it back down to Creative Beadcraft. However, you don’t need to use the same flower as me.

Perhaps you find a completely different style. Or maybe make your own using another beading pattern (I’ve given you a few ideas below this description). You basically just need to look for a pendant pattern.

Experience and Techniques

This is a great beginner level project. That may surprise you! In fact, you are going to be using a little bit of Peyote stitch to make the two small flowers. Then the rest of the necklace is made with daisy chain stitch.

I have included comprehensive instructions with diagrams and photos. So, you should be able to follow along easily.

About the Daisy Chain Beaded Necklace

As I said at the beginning, I love the versatility of daisy chain. So, I decided to take the stitch as a basis for this design.

I let it guide me towards the floral theme. As soon as I saw the focal flower, I knew it needed to hang on a chain. So, the daisy chain seemed appropriate.

Then, I wanted to add a little interest. So, I created the small flowers and used them to allow the extra daisy chain drapes.

You can do things a little differently if you wish. In the pattern, I have broken down the steps, making it easy for you to change things around. So, maybe you just change the colour. Or maybe you play a little with the design. You can use your daisy chains in any way you like.

Katie always comes up with the neatest ideas! I love the two strands connected by a flower on each side to highlight a pendant. I will find the perfect use for this.
