I created this Right Angle Weave Bangle tutorial as an easy beginner project. A lot of people are somewhat afraid of Right Angle Weave because its thread path can seem confusing. Instead of working from side to side, you are working in circles. For some, this is easy to grasp. Others find it more of a struggle. I have taught a few people who struggle with Right Angle Weave. So, I am forever trying to work out ways of making it more accessible.

This Right Angle Weave Bangle project combines different bead sizes as an easy means of making a Right Angle Weave tube. Rather than working in the true tubular variation, you will be learning how to make a strip and then zip it up. I completed my bangle bracelet with a peyote beaded clasp. However, you can easily use a ready-bought clasp, or even create a true bangle by joining the ends.

Materials for the Right Angle Weave Bangle

The Right Angle Weave bangle is made entirely using seed beads. You do not have to buy an expensive brand, but do make sure to try and keep to the same brand.

The technique for making bangles requires you to create a tube that is wider around the outside than in the centre. This can be done in many different ways. For this version, I chose to use different bead sizes. So, you will need seed beads in sizes 6 and 8. If you are making my beaded clasp, then you will also want some size 11 seed beads.

I designed this project with beginners in mind. So, you will have noticed that I used big beads, making it easy to see what you are doing. The only downside of that is that you need really good tension.

I have also written really comprehensive instructions, with clear step-by-step diagrams. So this should be easy to follow. If you wish, you can use a mix of colours, as I did. I feel this makes it easier to understand the RAW technique. However, it is not essential.

This is a great pattern if you want to master Right Angle Weave, plus you get a lovely bangle at the end!
