About the Beaded Cuff Bracelet

I designed this beaded cuff bracelet as one of my first forays into working with Arcos and Minos beads. This formed part of my work with the Beadsmith Inspiration Squad. I found the Arcos and Minos very intuitive to work with and they combined well with the honeycomb beads that I had used before. I’m not entirely sure whether it was the colouring or the design, but something about this beaded cuff bracelet reminded me of Moroccan tiles. Certainly, I discovered that the Arcos and Minos beads are brilliant for creating effortless patterning within beadwork.

This beaded cuff bracelet is fairly simple to make. The thread paths are straightforward and the pattern gives detailed instructions with step-by-step illustrations. The way in which I have attached the clasp uses slightly more advanced techniques – although still nothing difficult and you can download a free tutorial to help you with the Peyote stitch that I used. If this still seems a little intimidating, it is possible to use a completely different clasp – a slide clasp would work really well – and you can attach it using simple bead stringing. When I made the beaded cuff bracelet, I attached the clasp separately at the end – this is always a good idea as, if something should happen to the clasp, you can replace it without needing to un-make the entire bracelet.

If you enjoy working with these beads – and I hope you will – you can find plenty more patterns that use them. The fastest way to do this is by using the little search bar on here. I have included links to give you a little more information about the beads you are using, so I hope that will also be helpful. I just hope you will enjoy your little taste of Morocco!
