About the AVA Bead Embroidery Project
The idea for AVA bead embroidery came from a little experiment where I had laid out my AVA beads in a lovely pattern, but found I could not recreate it with traditional bead-weaving as I ended up with unsightly threads and beads getting in the way of the clean pattern. So, that is when I decided to turn to bead embroidery. I initially thought of making a pair of earrings, but felt this was a little large, although if you do like flamboyant earrings, give this a go. You just need 8 AVA beads for each, so you can get enough in just one packet from here.
The AVA bead embroidery tutorial includes full details of all the materials and colours that I used. You can buy some supplies from me here. Aside from the AVA beads, you will be using seed beads, DiamonDuos and Superduos. This project uses simple thread paths, but it is tricky to get the accurate placement of beads that you need. The tutorial is illustrated with detailed step-by-step photos so you can see every stage clearly. If you need additional help with bead embroidery, then this guide will tell you everything you need to know. It will also give you some links to other bead embroidery patterns if you like this style of beadwork.
