This Superduo Duet herringbone bracelet is attractive and simple to make. I added a feature beaded clasp.

The Superduo Duets are a fantastic new beading innovation. They are identical in size and shape to ordinary Superduos, but they have a special two-tone colour. So, as you wear these beads, they shift and shimmer. This gives a fabulous colour effect. I feel it works especially well in Herringbone stitch.

What materials do I need for the superduo duet herringbone bracelet?

The Superduo Duet Herringbone bracelet is made with Duets and normal Superduos. So, you will need to start by choosing your Duet colour. Then pick a normal Superduo to tone with one of these colours.

You also need size 11 seed beads in two colours. These should be the two colours in your Duet.

That’s it for beads, but you will need thread. The Superduo Duet herringbone bracelet works with all thread types. So, just pick your favourite.

The pattern instructions tell you how to decide on colouring.

What Experience do I need?

You will be using herringbone and Peyote stitch for this project. I have written these instructions so they are suitable for all. So, I have covered the basics and not assumed that you already know the techniques.

I believe that means this pattern is suitable for all levels. I am also on hand to answer any questions, so feel free to contact me at any time.

You can size the bracelet to fit any wrist. It is very easy to do and the pattern explains how to determine the correct size.

Top Tips!

The Superduo Duet Herringbone bracelet is a great introduction if you have never worked with two-holed beads before. If you are already used to working with Superduos, then you will already know my first piece of advice… Remember to check that both holes are empty before you use each bead! As it happens, in this project, you will very quickly notice a blocked hole. But in some projects, it can be a long time before you come back to use the second hole on a bead. So, then you have a lot of work to un-stitch in order to change the bead!

Now, the colouring for the Superduo Duets takes a bit of getting used to. In order for the pattern to work, you need to pick each bead up the right way round. The project instructions have explained which way, so you don’t need to guess! But, it is tempting to get carried away or confused as you work. So, my other top tip is to keep an eye on your bracelet and make sure the pattern is working out right.
