This hot chocolate beaded box just evolved by accident. I’m not entirely happy with the results. I was aiming for a Starbucks take-away cup of hot chocolate. Needless to say, I couldn’t reproduce the Starbucks branding. So I created my own! If you want to see the inspiration behind this, here is the link to the cup>> and you can google the hot chocolate!
Anyway, without further ado, let me tell you about the pattern…
For the hot chocolate beaded box, you will need the following:
- Size 10 delicas
- Size 11 delicas
- Seed beads in size 8
- Peanut Beads
- Your choice of beading thread

Experience and techniques
You will be working in tubular and circular Peyote, Cellini spiral and also even count peyote. The hot chocolate beaded box pattern instructions assume you are already familiar with these techniques.
If that isn’t the case, don’t worry – you can download free tutorials from this website to help you learn or revise the techniques.
This project is suitable for experienced beaders. But I have written very clear instructions with lots of tips. So, if you are wanting to challenge yourself, then give it a go.

As I went on to explain, I try to bead food that looks distinctive through its shape and colouring. For me, the biggest challenges in this project were shaping the box to try and get the effect of the cup being wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. Then, making the cream on top.
Since most people haven’t recognised this for what it is, I’m afraid I didn’t do so well there. But lots of you seem to want the pattern, so I hope you enjoy it!
