If you like to make Advent special, then this is the perfect project for you! I have made this beaded Advent calendar kit available with options.
The full project comprises 24 little beaded boxes, each numbered with a date. The boxes are big enough to hold a candy or chocolate, or perhaps some beads or thread. So, you get a little treat to open each day.
Plus, I included five Advent candles that you can light with a little beaded flame. You can store the candle flames in the boxes.
When I first revealed my calendar, I had lots of fabulous feedback from my customers. So, based on this, I have developed a few kit options that I hope will satisfy your budget as well as your desire to bead.
General information about the Beaded Advent Calendar Kit
All of the kits contain ONLY beads. So, you will need to purchase the Advent calendar pattern separately. You can find it at this link.
I decided not to include thread in this kit. Firstly, most of you probably already have loads of thread. Secondly, I know everyone has a personal preference when it comes to thread.
Now, this is a big project that will use a lot of thread. So, I didn’t see that it was fair or useful for you to be paying for thread in this kit, if it turns out to be thread you don’t even like using.
If you do need to buy some thread, that’s not a problem. I sell various different types of beading thread right here.
Techniques for the beaded Advent Calendar
The boxes and candles for the beaded Advent calendar are all made using circular and tubular Peyote stitch. The pattern includes a technique reminder. However, if this technique is completely new for you, I also have a free tutorial that you can download here.
I used basic Square Stitch to make the little labels for each beaded box. If you are not familiar with this technique, I also have a free tutorial for that. Plus, you can find out more about Square Stitch in this blog.
The pattern instructions are very comprehensive. So, I think this project could be attempted by anyone.
It took me about 60 hours to complete the entire beaded Advent calendar. I did it by making a box a day, which I actually found very therapeutic.
So, I’m going to send this out with a health warning too… This project can be addictive! I was really sad when I actually completed mine!
For the moment, I am not setting up colour options. So, when you order, please include a note to tell me what colour scheme you would like. I will then pick the appropriate bead colours and combinations.
Now, if you want to choose your own colouring, I suggest it may help for you to simply buy the materials separately. I do sell everything that you need and I am offering some larger pack sizes for the Superduos and size 10 Delicas. So, you can save a little on cost.
Make it your own!
The pattern allows you to vary things with your design and arrangement. I appreciate that you are all on budgets. So, the full kit may not be appropriate for everyone.
This is why I am offering kit options.
This gives you all the beads you need to make the complete Advent calendar as shown in the photos.
Kit with 1 candle
In this beaded Advent calendar kit, you just get the beads for the central candle. You still get beads for all 24 boxes and labels, plus the beads for assembling the entire structure.
In this kit, you just get the beads for making the 24 boxes with their labels. So, you will not have any candles. You will not be joining the boxes either.
This is the smallest beaded Advent calendar kit. It just makes twelve boxes. So, this is great for celebrating the Twelve Days of Christmas. You will not be joining the boxes together.
I am keeping these kits permanently on back order. So, this means I will be putting every kit together specially for the customer, rather than holding stock.
If I have the beads in stock, the kit will be packaged and shipped for you immediately. However, in a lot of cases, I may well be ordering beads in specially. So, this will mean around a 2-week wait time.
In every case, I will email you to let you know how long your order is going to take. So, if you are working to a particular time frame, please let me know.
If you have any questions about this, then please send me an email.
