Yes, you did read that right!…This is an opportunity for you to choose free beading patterns. You don’t have to spend anything, but you do have to be a customer of mine. I also confess, I would like a small favour from you in return for this. Please write a review of the product you buy or download.
Do those two simple things – buy or download a product and review it – and I will enter you in a weekly prize draw to win the beading pattern of your choice …FOR FREE!
I thought about calling this the ‘Weekend Review’ because… Well, maybe that was a random idea, but this does have something to do with weekends and something to do with reviews.
What you need to do
I want you to write a review of any of the products you have bought or downloaded from me. So, you don’t need to have spent any money. You might have downloaded my one of my free tutorials. When I say, ‘choose free beading patterns’, I do mean free.
I also want to be clear: this is not some kind of bribe! I would like honest reviews. They help me to improve my products. They also help other people to decide whether the pattern, book, or kit is going to be the right thing for them.
How to leave your review
- Find the product that you purchased (you can use the search bar at the top of each page to locate it. Or, go into your account, find your orders and click on the product you want to review)
- When you are on the product page, you will see the ‘reviews’ just by the full product description. Click on the ‘reviews’ label and write your review
- That’s it! If you have never left a review before, your new review may not appear immediately. All comments are checked to make sure I don’t get spam on here!
How do you get to choose free beading patterns?
That’s a good question. Well, every weekend, I’m going to pick a random name from those who have left reviews during the past week. That person will then get the chance to choose any beading pattern and have it sent to them for free.
Yes, you did hear me right, I do mean any beading pattern. So, you could choose my most expensive pattern (the gingerbread house box, in case you’re wondering). You could choose the pattern you’ve been coveting for ages. Or, you could try a pattern that you might think twice about buying, but that looks interesting. What have you got to lose?
I make the draw on a Sunday and the winner will be notified by the end of Monday at the latest.
So, off you go, write that review, choose free beading patterns…it is that simple!
But, I never get lucky in draws
I know what you’re probably thinking. It’s all very well, but if I go to all the trouble of writing a review, what are the chances that I’ll be the one who gets to choose free beading patterns? I’d be thinking the same. So, that’s why I want to share a little known trade secret with you.
Why the odds are higher than you think
I want to let you into a little trade secret here. In my previous life, I used to work as a strategy consultant… That’s not the secret, by the way!
This meant I got to see the inside workings of some really well-known companies. One of the projects I did was for a retail company that’s a real household name (I can’t reveal it, but think big!). They were running a competition – you know the sort…send us your email and you could win the latest mobile phone/best holiday/huge cash prize.
Now, when I hear about something like that, my instinctive reaction, is why bother? It’s not going to be me winning this and I might get spammed with loads of email.
It turns out, the vast majority of people think the same. So, whilst I was imagining the millions of customers and potential customers (literally millions), all entering this competition, do you know how many entries they actually had? Thirty. I’m not kidding. Just thirty people bothered to enter. If I’d known that, I might have entered myself! It’s certainly made me think differently about competitions!
Why there’s nothing to lose
All that time I was thinking there were no odds of me winning, but this would require effort and I might risk getting spammed or something. And, I had a valid point (ok, I was mistaken about the odds…) In this case, you’ve literally got nothing to lose. I’m not using this to collect email addresses so I can spam you. I’m not asking you to buy anything – you’ve already done that bit!
I do appreciate that you’re giving up your time though. So, you will earn my undying gratitude…as well as the chance to choose free beading patterns! This will also be an easy process.
While you’re here on the website, just check your past orders (or hopefully you remember a product you’ve got). Then you can use the search bar to find the product and leave a review. It doesn’t have to be long. And you might even enjoy writing it!
How to Guarantee you win!
Lastly, I want to share a way that guarantees you a win… No, I’m not rigging the draw. Neither am I rewarding glowing reviews! You will have just as much chance of getting that free pattern if you write a bad review (although maybe you wouldn’t want to choose anything more from me!). So, I’m not promising that you will be the one who gets to choose free beading patterns. Although, if you write a review every week, you’ll be in with a chance every week.
No: I’ve got one more incentive. Anyone who is the first to review a product will get a discount voucher. So, it may not be free, but it is a token of my appreciation.
So, it just remains for me to say thank you! I’m grateful that you’re here browsing my website. I’m really grateful that you use my patterns. In this instance, I’m also hugely grateful to everyone who leaves some feedback to help others. So, thank you and happy beading!
Winners so far…
It turns out the worst odds for this are 1 in 6…some weeks nobody has left a review, sometimes only one person. So, all you need to do is write your review and you are almost guaranteed a free beading project!
So far, the lucky recipients of free patterns have been Helen, Corinne, Cyndi, Akoya, MaryPat and Elizabeth…it could be you next…
