Bead Embellished Cabochons is the second of Katie’s self-published books. I first published it in January 2014. It focuses on teaching different techniques for turning stones, cabochons and other found objects into beautiful bead embellished cabochon pendants. Katie’s techniques are unique. They create a bead embellished cabochon that is exposed on both sides. So, it is not backed with any other medium. This allows you to create jewellery that can be reversed.

People who have purchased this book have been kind enough to share some of their creations. So, I have added these to the gallery to give you some inspiration.

If you’re not into jewellery, then you can easily use these stones as paperweights or other decorative objects.

Bead Embellished Cabochons Blurb

Have you ever picked up a stone with amazing colours and patterns? Or seen a Rivoli and wondered how to capture it to wear? This book will show you four different techniques for beading around cabochons, rivolis and found objects. You can then embellish them with different combinations of beads. Try different styles and turn them into jewellery or decorative objects.

Katie takes you through the techniques. She offers guidance in deciding how to create casings for different sizes and styles of stone. She then gives you some options for embellishing your stones. Finally, she shows you how to turn them into beautiful jewellery.

Techniques include Peyote stitch, Herringbone, Square stitch, Freeform weaving and RAW.

The digital version of Bead Embellished Cabochons is available here. I have added some sample project photos to my Pinterest board.

If you are keen to get started straightaway, I have some cabochon kits available. They include a natural stone cabochon plus all the beads you will need to capture and embellish it, following the instructions in my book.

I have also introduced a limited number of kits for making the party-time pendant featured in the book. You can buy these here.

  1. Inspiration pure, that book is hitting all my nerves,
Like the girlie attitude, glamourous or rustic, every cabochon and stone can be beautiful.
Now i will keep my eyes open for pretty and irregular shaped stones.
Next try will be the freeform method, that is not easy for me.
Thank you Katie, I am a truly fan of your designs, colourways and you 🙂
