These Flower Cup Beads are available in packs of 50. They measure about 5x7mm and have a single hole from base to centre.
So, the flower cup beads are great for adding to headpins to create dangles. I originally used these in my Holly Wreath Kits. If you have one of those and need some extra supplies, then these are for you!
These are made from glass and manufactured in the Czech Republic. So, you may also see them under the heading of pressed glass beads. They are available in a wide range of colours, but I am just offloading some old stock here.
So, the quantities you see are all that are available and I am not planning to re-stock these. Which means…grab them when you see them!
What can I do with my Flower Cup Beads
As I mentioned, these flower cup beads are brilliant for creating dangles on head pins. You can also incorporate them into bead-weaving projects.
As I discovered in my miniature Christmas wreath design, they nestle together beautifully. This creates a different look and feel. So, if you are just stringing, then you might like to try this. Think about Hawaiian Lei’s – these flower cup beads are perfect to recreate that effect.
Also, in the sewing and beadweaving line, how about bead embroidery? If you thread up through the flower cup, then add a small seed bead, you can thread back down the flower. Pass into your material and the flower will sit upright on the backing.
When people mention bead embroidery, they tend to assume stitching into fabric. However, a bead-woven base actually also makes a great backing. So, you could add carpets of flowers to a flat bracelet base.
