The wire wrapped bead bracelet pattern teaches you basic wirework techniques. You will learn how to create wire wrapped beads and then join them to create a bracelet. If you want to make a necklace, just increase the length of the project.

The pattern includes illustrated step-by-step instructions. It is perfect if you are just starting out with wirework projects. Alternatively, if you want to improve your skills, the wire wrapped bead bracelet will do this.

Materials for the Wire Wrapped Bead Bracelet

Start by choosing your focal beads. These should be at least 12mm in size. However, you can use any size you wish. You can elect to use all the same beads. Or, you can mix in some different varieties. So, if you have a stash to use up, the wire wrapped bead bracelet is a great project!

You will also need a coil of 0.6mm wire. Many craft or bead shops sell this and it is available in different colours. So, after you have chosen your beads, choose a wire colour to complement them. You want the wire to be visible, but not to distract from the beads.

The bracelet is assembled using eye pins and jump rings. I used size 8 seed beads to cap my wire wrapped beads. You can also use 3mm spacer beads for this purpose. Finish your wire wrapped bead bracelet with your favourite clasp.

You will need round nose pliers and wire cutters for this project.

What experience do I need

Absolutely none! The wire wrapped bead bracelet is a great project for complete beginners. You may find that your first few beads are a little untidy, as you learn to work with wire. However, you can remove the wire and re-do these as your skills improve. I love this design because it looks like it is difficult to achieve. In fact it is very simple!

The instructions use written word and detailed photos to show all the steps. So, the pattern is easy to follow. Once you have made your wire wrapped beads, you can turn them into a necklace or earrings as well. If you enjoy this, you can get a whole booklet covering basic jewellery making right here.
